Changing Uganda one heart at a time

ENCOURAGE,
DISCIPLE,
AND EMPOWER

Ugandan Widows,
Abandoned Families
and Communities

Encouraging

We encourage people to place their hope in the God of the Bible, His Word, and in His Son, Yeshua, who is the Word of God Made Flesh.

Discipling

We share God's Word to disciple families, plus we teach life skills, such as parenting, finances, and marketable skills.

Empowering

We empower and challenge believers to walk by faith and dare to take God at His Word as they study Scripture for themselves.

Our Story

In 2018, through some “chance events,” (but there are NO coincidences!) my son, Nathaniel, connected over Facebook with a young Ugandan man named Musumba. They developed a friendship, and Nathaniel learned that Musumba, too, had a mother who was single and a strong believer. Nathaniel asked me to also connect with Musumba, which I reluctantly did, at last, in October of 2018.

The Plight of Ugandan Women

In Uganda, and much of Africa, a man pays a bride price to the parents of the bride. It is meant to reflect her value to him. But when the bride price is paid, she becomes his property to do with as he chooses. Abuse, neglect, infidelity and abandonment by godless husbands are acceptable. Multiple wives are acceptable. The woman cannot divorce or leave to escape an impossible situation. Because of this, the rate of abandoned wives is staggeringly high. Without skills, abandoned women and widows have few options and struggle to survive.
